Don Barker Ltd

Don Barker FWCB is the Founder and Managing Director of the Company which now employs 10 people.  He is a Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman and Bronze Award Holder of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths where he also serves on the Court, the Craft Committee and chairs the Public Relations and Publicity Committee. He is a member and past Honorary Treasurer of the British Artist Blacksmiths Association http://www.baba.org.uk. The history of blacksmithing in his family can be traced back over 200 years and he is proud to be able to continue in the craft.
He is a trained mechanical and design engineer giving him an invaluable insight into the materials he works with.
His hobbies include water-colour painting, woodwork and woodland management.

Trevor Clark is a Director of the Company which he joined in 1996 following a successful career in management with British Rail. His responsibilities include customer liaison, production management and staff training. He introduced and is continually developing the Company's Automated Entry and Security Division.
In addition to studying for a degree with the Open University http://www.open.ac.uk, much of his spare time is dedicated to working as a Senior Youth Worker and he also finds time to sit on various local committees.

Barbara Barker is the Financial Director, Company Secretary and IT Manager, dealing with the accounts, contracts and legal aspects of running the Company.
She develops software for the Company and designed and maintains this web site. Her training in computer programming began at Manchester University in 1964. She recently gained a distinction in computer studies with the Open University.
She is a member of Mensa and is the invigilator for supervised Mensa tests in the York area. http://www.mensa.org.uk Her hobbies include millinery, patchwork and quilting, millinery and juggling.
