Don Barker Limited - Artist Blacksmiths

Don Barker Ltd is a small blacksmithing business employing ten people at its blacksmiths' forge and offices at Elvington Industrial Estate near York, England.

The work we produce is of a very high quality and includes all types of decorative metalwork from twelve feet high automatic estate gates to ecclesiastical light fittings for cathedral choir stalls.

Past commissions have included the new public entrance to Westminster Abbey, street lighting for Cardiff Docks, an altar panel and tabernacle for The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, bronze handrails for Mousa Broch in the Shetlands and electrically operated gates for an estates in Eire and Portugal.

We often restore antique ironwork for titled estate owners and the National Trust and we have produced many windows for listed buildings in mild steel, stainless steel and bronze. We specialise in working with pure iron which is our preferred replacement for wrought iron which is no longer manufactured.

We are extremely proud of our reputation for producing good work which is value for money and which arrives with the customer when we say it will.
